Hello friends! Just writing to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, and to tell a quick story.

This morning, while preparing for our meal, my mother stopped at the window on our front door. She pointed outside and cried out in an astonished voice, "Hey! There's a turkey in our cul de sac!" And then she just stood there, staring.

I walked over to her, all the while shaking my head and suggesting that she seek some form of psychological help. When I reached her I turned my attention to the area in front of our house, and lo and behold, there it was. But it wasn't a turkey, exactly.

Apparently there was some -- er -- carrion in the cul de sac, and an immense turkey vulture was having its own Thanksgiving feast. A few moments later, another 'turkey' of similar size landed nearby and joined in the fesitivities.

Now there's a story that will stay with us forever. I hope that your day goes by with tryptophanic ease. Enjoy your turkey, enjoy the parade, the dog show, football, or whatever it is you do on Thanksgiving. But leave the carrion to the turkeys.
